MATHIS, Paul Edward "Blob" St. Petersburg, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013. Homegoing services will be held Saturday, Sept. 28th, 2 pm, at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Ave., Tampa, FL 33606. Interment will take place Monday, Sept. 30th, in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Born Jan. 21, 1960 to the late Lewis and Mary Mathis, Paul was a native of Tampa, who was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Leto High School in 1977. After graduation, he enlisted into the United States Army in 1978, where he proudly served his country for ten years before being honorably discharged in 1988. He was employed at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital in St. Petersburg, where he made a host of sorrowing friends before his demise. Survived by his brothers, Theron L. Mathis (Tiaesha Lewis), Darrell Mathis (Norma), Charles Mathis (Sherry); nephews, Theron Mathis (fiancée TyWana Greenidge), Eric Mathis, Jaidon Mathis; Eric Penny (LaDonna); niece, Tia Mathis and mother Miranda Mathis; and loving family and friends. Remains will repose after 5 pm, Friday, Sept. 27th, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N.
