BERTRAND, Romeo C. 92, born Nov. 6, 1921 in Jefferson, SD, passed away March 15, 2014 peacefully at Seminole Nursing Pavilion with his son, Timothy Bertrand & wife Lynn by his side, along with the Seminole Nursing Pavilion staff. Romeo is survived by his brother, Rodney & wife Diane of Sioux City, IA; his sister, Lucille Williamson; and many special nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dorothy; brother, Armand Bertrand; and sister, Leatta Fink. Romeo was a veteran of the Army Air Corps 450th bomb group during World War II. He was a devout Catholic, member of the American Legion, and retired from Florida Power along with participating in the Florida Power bowling league. Romeo enjoyed hunting with his son Timothy and friends, loved the outdoors, camping, nature, gardening, cooking, singing, dancing, sewing, and making beautiful hand-made quilts. He also liked woodworking, building, and being an all-around handyman. Romeo excelled in the field of body and fender "Auto", but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed and remembered forever in our hearts and memories. He was blessed to have wonderful family and friends and appreciate all the genuine care, visits, support, thoughts, and prayers by all for Romeo and his family. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 21st, 1 pm at Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 5800 15th Ave S, Gulfport. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Petersburg.
