Jack passed away in peace Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the age of 85 years after a gracious fight with Multiple Dysplastic Syndrome (MDS).

He is survived by his beloved son, David who resides in England; daughter, Yvonne (Vern); granddaughter, Lisa (Andy); grandson, Barrie; great-granddaughter, Emlyn; his loving companion Marguerite (and family) and his extended family in England.

Jack was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Sylvia; and his infant son, Paul.

Jack was born in Yugoslavia (Serbia). He joined WWII efforts at a young age, he was subsequently rescued by British troops and sent to England after the war ended where he resided, married and raised his children.

He immigrated to Canada in 1980 and lived in St. Albert. He was a tile installer/contractor by trade and an avid golfer. Jack led a very active, full life. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew him.

A private family celebration will be held at a later date.

Thank you to all the doctors and nurses who cared for him in his final months. A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at the Edmonton General for making his last days so comfortable.
