Paul G. Minkiewicz, 68, resident of Melbourne, FL and former resident of San Rafael, CA and Stamford, CT, passed away at his home on January 7th, 2013. Paul was born in Stamford, CT, on May 10, 1944, to Agnes (Klein) Minkiewicz and the late Anthony Minkiewicz. Paul predeceased his uncle, Joseph Minkiewicz. who died on January 12, 2013. Paul attended Stamford Catholic High School, where he proudly played tackle on the Crusader's varsity football team. He graduated in the class of 1962. He was awarded a football scholarship to American International College in Springfield, MA, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1966. After college, he served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1968. Following his time in the service, Paul continued his education at the University of San Francisco, earning a Masters Degree in Business and becoming a Certified Public Accountant in 1995. In his youth, Paul loved to run and ski. After his discharge from the Army, he spent a year in Kitzbuhel, Austria, fine tuning his skiing abilities. After his "European Adventure", he settled in the San Francisco Bay area where he resided until his move to Melbourne, FL in 2010. In Florida, Paul worked as a Communication Specialist with the Department of Defense. In his spare time, he enjoyed attending WWII air shows and taking flights in B-17s. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and by those who knew and loved him. Paul is survived by his mother, Agnes Minkiewicz, of Greenbrae, CA, a sister, Janis Duffy, of New Hampshire, and a brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Janet Minkiewicz, of Novato, CA. He is also survived by his uncle, George Klein, of Bridgeport, CT; aunt and uncle, Bill and Gina Klein, of Bridgeport, CT; aunt, Beatrice Minkiewicz, of Stamford, CT; nephew, Victor Chiappetta, and wife Carol, and children, of North Carolina; and nieces, Janis Boulbol, and husband Greg, and their children, of Vermont; and Katherine Minkiewicz, of Novato, CT, and many cousins. The Minkiewicz family will receive condolences and offer a memorial service for Paul at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford, CT on Saturday, March 23rd from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Interment will be held in private at the request of the family. The Minkiewicz family has entrusted Paul's final arrangements to Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT.
