Zerrenner, Anne
Anne (Nancy) Patricia Zerrenner, age 82, a lifelong resident of Stamford, Conn., passed away at Stamford Hospital on the afternoon of Friday, June 7, 2013 with her loving family at her side. Anne was born in Stamford on August 27, 1930 to the late William and Catherine (Leonard) Zerrenner.
Anne was a loving daughter, sister and aunt, and a true friend to all those who knew and loved her. Anne's greatest joy came from spending time with her family, and because of her compassion and Motherly spirit, she meant much more than "Aunt Nancy". She shared her love and compassion with everyone she met, including her neighbors and those who would pass by the window outside her home. In her working years, Anne worked at Bunker-Ramo's Stamford office before working as a hostess at Howard Johnson in Darien. Anne was a devout Roman Catholic who cherished practicing her faith. For many years she was a faithful parishioner of The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist.
Anne is survived by nieces and nephews: Ann Furnaros (Skeets), Patricia Williams (Joseph), Gail Fagan, Nancy Borsey (Mark) Judy Bogue (Tom), Jackie Krause (Donna), Bill Krause, Lisa Sabia-Zerrenner, Lori Zerrenner, William Zerrenner Jr. and a sister-in-law, Jackie Zerrenner. She was preceded in death by her sisters Sarah Griswold (Gilbert) and Vivian Krause (Red), brother William Zerrenner (Angela), nephews Christopher Viesto and Gilbert W. Griswold and nieces Cathy Griswold and Ruth Harris (Roger). She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews as well as many cousins.
The family will receive the condolences of friends and family on Thursday, June 13th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home at 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on the morning of Friday, June 14th at 10 a.m. at The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic Street in Stamford. A committal service and Anne's interment will immediately follow at St. John R.C. Cemetery in Darien.

My fondest memories of Nancy were sitting at the kitchen table at Clinton Ave having a glass of soda and listening to her, my Aunt Aggie and my father Bill (Chic) Henry chatting about everything and anything and of course Uncle Bill in his chair, cigar in his mouth watching baseball. The old rotary phone, the fact that all of her messages were the same "Nancy Zerrenner 324-7*30", even though the number never changedf and if you knew her you had it in your mind forever :)Going to see Nancy at Howard Johnsons and having 2 or 3 hot fudge sundae's and her being amazed i'd be able to have that many :) She always treated me like an adult even when i was little and i'll always love her for all of it. She was truly an amazing person and loved by all.

"Nancy, Nancy, Nancy"
and I can hear you saying,
"Jerry, Jerry, Jerry" back.
I think about you and Sarah often, especially when I drive by the old Howard Johnson's (HoJo's) location.
How I looked forward to knowing you or your sister would be on-duty and thinking up what "prank" I could pull off that shift!
You loved to laugh!
A person knew they were liked when they could make you laugh so hard it brought you to tears!
It's been a few years since I spoke to you last on the phone but, as I said, thought of you often.
I miss the old gang at HoJo's; some of the greatest times of my life!
I will miss you dearly.
Rest in peace.
My condolescences to the entire Griswold Family.
