Notices from the Past Week

Lauture, Petionne - Stamford
Lauture, Petionne Petionne Lauture, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday May 23rd after years of ailments. She was born in Lavallee de Jacmel in Haiti on February 4th, 1930 to parents Benjamin and Carizanne Lauture. She eventually married Rocheman Dorsainville in Port au Prince, Haiti. Petionne is survived by her daughter, Carole Charles, son-in-law Raymond Charles and three grandsons, Woodley Charles, Rayol Charles and Marcus Charles. Although she loved each of her grandchildren, she always made sure to somehow mention she also was godmother to Woodley. Petionne also leaves behind two sisters, Eliane Benoit and Edith Laguerre, and a host of cousins, nephews, and nieces. Petionne moved to Stamford, CT in 1973. A loving, humble and generous spirit, she loved two things above others; her family and her relationship with God. A devout Catholic, only various physical ailments could prevent her from attending services. However, she always worshipped in prayer daily. Always up for a story or a laugh, Petionne was also known for her sense of humor. If she told a story meant to make you laugh, not only would the recipient laugh due to the humor but also due to her infectious joy. Her smile and laugh will remain etched in the hearts and minds of those she touched. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Shippan's Thomas M Gallagher Funeral Home (next to the Knights of Columbus) 453 Shippan Ave Stamford, CT. (203)-359-9999. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at St Mary Church 566 Elm St Stamford, CT. Interment will follow.
