Anne (Nancy) Patricia Zerrenner, age 82, a lifelong resident of Stamford, Conn., passed away at Stamford Hospital on the afternoon of Friday, June 7, 2013 with her loving family at her side. Anne was born in Stamford on August 27, 1930 to the late William and Catherine (Leonard) Zerrenner.
Anne was a loving daughter, sister and aunt, and a true friend to all those who knew and loved her. Anne's greatest joy came from spending time with her family, and because of her compassion and Motherly spirit, she meant much more than "Aunt Nancy". She shared her love and compassion with everyone she met, including her neighbors and those who would pass by the window outside her home. In her working years, Anne worked at Bunker-Ramo's Stamford office before working as a hostess at Howard Johnson in Darien. Anne was a devout Roman Catholic who cherished practicing her faith. For many years she was a faithful parishioner of The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist.
Anne is survived by nieces and nephews: Ann Furnaros (Skeets), Patricia Williams (Joseph), Gail Fagan, Nancy Borsey (Mark) Judy Bogue (Tom), Jackie Krause (Donna), Bill Krause, Lisa Sabia-Zerrenner, Lori Zerrenner, William Zerrenner Jr. and a sister-in-law, Jackie Zerrenner. She was preceded in death by her sisters Sarah Griswold (Gilbert) and Vivian Krause (Red), brother William Zerrenner (Angela), nephews Christopher Viesto and Gilbert W. Griswold and nieces Cathy Griswold and Ruth Harris (Roger). She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews as well as many cousins.
The family will receive the condolences of friends and family on Thursday, June 13th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home at 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on the morning of Friday, June 14th at 10 a.m. at The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic Street in Stamford. A committal service and Anne's interment will immediately follow at St. John R.C. Cemetery in Darien.
