Vivona, Dominick R.
Dominick R. Vivona, Sr., 83, a lifelong Stamford resident passed away on April 5 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 21, 1929, the son of the late Nicholas Vivona and Rose (Ganino) Vivona. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Maria (Lembo) Vivona.
Dominick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner and operator of Dominick R. Vivona Electrical Company prior to working for the Stamford Board of Education as an electrician for 30 years .
He leaves behind his children, Carolann Apuzzo and husband Joe, Donna Marie Sprio and husband Louis, Dominick R. Vivona, Jr. and wife Gloria, Matthew Vivona and wife Louise, his brother, Joseph Vivona and companion Marie, and grandchildren, Maria, Joseph, Matthew Andrew, Claire Skye, Mia Rose and Lucas Dominick.
Dominick was an avid history reader, and a devoted fan of the Giants and Mets. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Augustine Council #41 4th Degree, and the Stillwater Indian Social Club.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT.
