JULIA ESTHER MAGAN, age 94, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 20, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Pueblo Libre, Ancash, Peru on February 29, 1920. At the age of 10 she became an orphan and migrated to San Jacinto to live with her brother, Maximo, who was the barber of the plantation, as well as with her siblings Pedro, Demetrio, and Maria. She married Eladio Magan when she was 18 years old; from this union they had 9 children. She lived most of her life in San Jacinto, in 1971 she moved to Lima and most recently, in the past 3 years, has lived in Stamford, CT until the most perfect man, Jesus Christ, took her.
Mrs. Magan was predeceased by her husband in 1959 and is survived by her 9 children: Edith, Carlos, Irma, Eduardo, Nico, Willy, Leonor, Magda and Lucho; 12 grandchildren: Karin, Lalo, Raul, Adalberto (Piky), Patty, Ronnie, Tony, Nick, Anthony, Stephanie, Jessica and Gonzalo. 13 great-grandchildren: Samantha, Mia, Ray, Carly, Eduardo, Julia, Kevin, Faride, Nishme, Thaira, Leonora, Brandon, Isabela, and 1 great-great-grandson: Matias.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday July 23rd, 2014 from 4-9 PM at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Mary's Church, 566 Elm St. in Stamford on Thursday July 24th, 2014 at 12:00PM.
