Margaret E. (Troeter) Anderson


age 94, of Old Saybrook, passed away on March 4, 2008 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was born on January 28, 1914 to the late Oscar and Lena (Miller) Troeter. She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene F. Anderson for 59 years.

Margaret was a longtime volunteer for Pro Christo Laborantes, which helped provide care for lepers. She was also a volunteer at Nathaniel Witherell Nursing Home in Greenwich. She was a long term communicant and volunteer at St. Katherine of Siena in Riverside, CT and St. John in Old Saybrook. Margaret also enjoyed gardening. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and her faith.

She leaves behind a son David J. Anderson and his wife Connie of Millington, NJ, a daughter Mary A. Breen and her husband Tom of Manchester, a daughter Patricia Anderson-Felix and her husband Bruce of Guilford and a son Philip Anderson of Clinton. She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, Old Saybrook, on Friday March 7th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 8th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John in Old Saybrook. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Old Saybrook. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent in Margaret's honor to Birthright, 150 East Main Street, Clinton, CT 06413.
