Pamela Naughton

Naughton, Pamela
Pamela Parsons Naughton, 66, beloved wife of James Naughton of Weston, died April 9th at home. She passed with the same grace and courage with which she waged her 4 year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her husband, her two children, Greg & Keira, their spouses, and her 3 siblings.
The daughter of the late John and Jean Parsons of West Hartford, CT, she graduated from Hall High in 1964. After studying literature at Middlebury College, VT, she married James (also raised in West Hartford) in 1967. They lived in New Haven, CT while Jim was studying at Yale Drama School, and where their children were born.
After several years in CA, they moved to Westport in 1976, then settled down for good in Weston in 1977. In the following years, Pamela received a Masters of Social Work from Fordham University and subsequently worked at Hall-brooke Hospital (Westport) and in the special education department at Weston Middle School. In 1995 she put her prodigious people talents to work as Director of Development for the Blue Light Theater Company in NYC (founded by her son, Greg).
Her passions included the family "farm" where she spent many weekends and summers throughout her life with her siblings, 9 cousins and countless nieces, nephews, etc. Family was always first and foremost for Pamela, and she was the undisputed hub of a large and tight-knit extended family. Her greatest passion and pride in recent years, were her two grandchildren: Owen (3) and Charlie (10 mos).
The family will be holding a private memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: PANCREATIC CANCER ACTION NETWORK; WILDLIFE IN CRISIS (Weston, CT); or HOLE IN THE WALL GANG CAMP (Ashford, CT).
