William G. Bulakites, 91, of Ashlar Village, Wallingford, and formerly of Westport and Stamford, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013. "Bill" entered eternal rest with his loving wife, Ottilie Schleinkofer White Bulakites, and his family beside him.
Mr. Bulakites was born in Waterbury on November 16, 1921. He was the eldest of four children born to the late William G. and Genevieve Phillips Bulakites. He was a 1939 graduate of Stamford High School and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Following the war, Mr. Bulakites went on to graduate from New York University under the G.I. Bill. He was employed as a Buyer for Bonwit Teller until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Bulakites was a member of the Stamford Senior Men's Club, Masonic Ashlar Lodge #332, Westwood Court #8, Order of the Amaranth, and Ashlar Chapter #116, Order of the Eastern Star.
Mr. Bulakites was predeceased by his first wife, Gertrude Gillis Bulakites; his daughter, Debby Bulakites; and his brothers, George and Donald Bulakites. In addition to his beloved wife Ottilie, he is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Sidnie White Crawford and Dan D. Crawford of Lincoln, NE and Deborah O. White and Gary S. Spenik of Alameda, CA; his two grandchildren, Katie and Nicholas White-Spenik; his brother, Gene Bulakites of Shelton, and two nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church in Yalesville. Interment in Assumption Cemetery in Westport will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Masonic Charity Foundation, P.O.
