Evelyn Erna Schrull

EVELYN ERNA SCHRULL, a resident of New Milford, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in New Milford. Born on December 26, 1917 in Mount Vernon, NY, she was the daughter of the late Diedrich & Sara Janssen. She was 92. Evelyn graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, NY. She worked as a Secretary for Bristol Myers, New York, NY before her marriage to Rudolph Paul Schrull. She later worked as a part time Secretary for St. John's Lutheran Church, Stamford during the 1960's while being an active homemaker and mother. She later worked as Secretary and Accounting Assistant for General Housewares Corporation, Stamford until her retirement in 1989. She was also active for many years as a volunteer at St. Joseph Medical Center in Stamford. She is survived by her three children, Paul J. Schrull and his wife, Candace, of Brookfield, Robert E. Schrull and his wife Nami, of Putney, Vt., and William J. Schrull and his wife, Catherine, of New Milford. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Paul, Jr., Christopher, Kirsten, Megan, Raymond and Abigail. She was predeceased by her husband Rudolph Paul Schrull and a sister, Sara E. Jalicki. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m.. A funeral service will be held at Ina Ellen Chapel at St. John's Lutheran Church, 884 Newfield Avenue, Stamford on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Long Ridge Union Cemetery in Stamford.
