Gina Groccia Obituary
Gina Groccia, of Cos Cob, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2013. She was born to the late Francesco and Bombina Ripenga in Acri, Italy on May 8, 1933, she was 80. Gina is survived by her daughters; Maria (Stephan) DeVita, of Stamford and Gina (Matthew) Wallace of Cos Cob, grandchildren; Angelo (Maura) Faugno, Ralph Faugno, Luciano Faugno, Maggie Wallace, Matthew Wallace, Jr., sisters; Rosa Bruno of Stamford, Antionetta (Santo) Groccia or Riverside, Maria of Italy and her brothers Pasquale (Viola) Ripenga of Stamford and Natale Ripenga of Italy. In addition to her parents, Gina was predeceased by her beloved husband Luciano. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Her favorite thing to do was cooking the cherished Sunday meals for her beloved family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Burial will follow the Mass in St. Mary Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Gina's memory to the American Diabetes Assoc. 306 Industrial Park Rd. Middletown, CT 06457.
