AKIAM PRINCE THOMAS RAYE, a life long resident of Stamford, departed this life on Sunday, June 6th, 2010 at the age of 37. He was born on September 7th, 1972 in Fayetteville, NC to Margaret Raye of Stamford, and Charles (Lorraine) Raye Sr. of Raleigh, NC. In addition to his parents, Akiam leaves to cherish his memories three children Brittany Raye, Akiam Raye, II, and Akeima Raye all of Bridgeport; three sisters Antoinette Raye of Charlotte, NC, Tia Steele and Raven Steele both of Stamford; four brothers Charles Raye, Jr of New London, SanT�gio Steele of Stamford, Marco and Franco Raye both of Raleigh, NC; paternal grandmother Dorothy Johnson of Charlotte, NC; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents Marvin and Willie Mae Sadler, paternal grandfather Jimmy Johnson and his nephew Antonio Raye. Calling Hours are on Friday, June 11th, 2010 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove Street Stamford. Services to follow at the church with Reverend Dr. Tommie Jackson officiating. Interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Stamford. Services entrusted to Downer Funeral Home, 31 Stillwater Avenue Stamford, CT 06902.
