Ambrosio "Bocho" Lopez, 85, longtime resident of Stamford, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 with his family by his side at Stamford Hospital. Ambrosio was born December 31, 1927 in Lares, Puerto Rico to the late Emiliano Lopez and Maria Martinez.
Ambrosio is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Luz Maria Lopez; his children and their spouses: Elydia Pedrosa of Stamford, CT, Efrain (Blanca) Lopez of Bradenton, FL, Awilda (Rafael) Soto of Bradenton, FL, Elba (Pablo) Vanegas of Phoenix, AZ, Olga Lopez & Omar Negron of Stamford, CT, Zoraida (Rick) Butler of Stamford, CT, and Eddiberto (Wendy) Lopez of Bradenton, FL. Also surviving are twenty eight grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Casimiro Lopez, Juanito Lopez, Julia Lopez and son-in-law Porfirio Pagan.
Ambrosio's family will receive family and friends on Sunday, December 29th from 4 pm to 8 pm with a service to be celebrated at 6:30 pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford, CT. Family will gather at the funeral home on Monday, December 30th at 9 am and will leave at 9:30 am for his committal service at Woodland Cemetery, 66 Woodland Place, in Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to help with the burial arrangements.
