Szulimowski, Bronislaw
Bronislaw Szulimowski, 89, long time resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, August 2, 2013 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT following a brief illness. He was born in Poland on May 15, 1924 to the late Adam and Josephine Szulimowski.
Bronislaw's childhood in Poland was mostly focused on work and was a hard way to grow up. Amidst World War II, in the late 1940s, Bronislaw was placed in a work camp in Germany. It would be in that German work camp where he met his beloved Maria Kral, who was a friend of his sister. Bronislaw and Maria were married in 1948 and came to America in 1949 to raise their family. He worked for the City of Stamford for over 20 years in the Public Works department and was a dedicated and hard working employee. He was a faithful parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church, and he truly loved his Church.
Mr. Szulimowski is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Maria Szulimowski, of Stamford, his sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Diane Szulimowski, of Glen Burnie, MD, and Chet and Donna Szulimowski, of Trumbull, and his three grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan and Kendall.
