Bronislaw Szulimowski, 89, long time resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, August 2, 2013 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT following a brief illness. He was born in Poland on May 15, 1924 to the late Adam and Josephine Szulimowski.
Bronislaw's childhood in Poland was mostly focused on work and was a hard way to grow up. Amidst World War II, in the late 1940s, Bronislaw was placed in a work camp in Germany. It would be in that German work camp where he met his beloved Maria Kral, who was a friend of his sister. Bronislaw and Maria were married in 1948 and came to America in 1949 to raise their family. He worked for the City of Stamford for over 20 years in the Public Works department and was a dedicated and hard working employee. He was a faithful parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church, and he truly loved his Church.
Mr. Szulimowski is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Maria Szulimowski, of Stamford, his sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Diane Szulimowski, of Glen Burnie, MD, and Chet and Donna Szulimowski, of Trumbull, and his three grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan and Kendall.
The Szulimowski family will receive the sympathy and condolences of friends and family on Monday, August 5th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 6th at 11 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 325 Washington Blvd., in Stamford, CT. At the family's request the interment will held in private.
