Candee (Cofone) Lyon of Trumbull, CT, passed away in Miami, Florida on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with liver disease.
Candee was born in Greenwich, CT on May 14, 1956, and she graduated from Greenwich High School in 1975. She worked for many years as a payroll specialist at Bigelow Tea in Fairfield until her health failed.
Candee married her loving husband Peter J. Lyon on October 22, 1983, and they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary last fall. She was a caring, thoughtful and generous person who touched the lives of everyone she knew. Her biggest passion was her family and she was happiest entertaining, camping, vacationing and spending quality time with family and friends. Her precious granddaughter was her pride and joy and she loved being a Grandma. She had a special knack of making everyone who walked through her door feel welcome and loved. She was a great shopper and bargain hunter who had a special talent for finding unique gifts for those she loved. She was also a treasured member of the "Ya-Yas", a group of childhood friends who have remained close through the years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters; Meghan Hamlin and her husband Alex of Loudon, NH; and Krista Lyon, of West Hartford, CT. She is also survived by her granddaughter Payton Rose Hamlin; brother Edward Cofone and his wife Lili of Greenwich; mother-in-law Mariel Lyon of Stratford; father-in-law George Lyon of Naples, FL and Skowhegan, ME; sisters-in-law, Carol Ferensak and her husband Paul of Southington, CT; Donna Olejnik and her husband Kenneth of Tacoma, WA; Nancy Finlayson and her husband George of New Hartford, CT; and Lorri Lyon and her husband Alex Strotzer of Apex, NC. She also leaves 10 nieces and nephews, Paul and Todd Ferensak and Lisa Ferensak Hanna; Heidi, Heather, Kevin and Keith Olejnik; Bryce and Acacia Finlayson; and Lukas Lyon; a grand nephew Chase Ferensak, and grand niece Tessa Hanna.
She was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Virginia Bryant Cofone.
Friends may greet the family on Thursday February 20, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at Cyril F Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road Trumbull, CT06610.
