Molina, Daniel
Daniel Molina, 92, peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, April 28, 2013. Daniel was born in the beautiful city of Cali, Colombia on May 1, 1920 and was the second son born to the late Marcos Porras and Ines Molina. In his youth Daniel displayed a natural talent as a gifted musician and singer, playing the guitar and bandolin. He was fascinated with reading literature and especially enjoyed studying different schools of philosophy. His affinity for learning about philosophical enlightenment even surpassed his fondness of soccer or friendly games of sapo, bolos, parkes, poker and dominoes with family and friends. Daniel migrated to the United States in 1982, and proudly adopted Stamford as his new home. He was honored by Mayor Dannel Malloy, in celebration of his 88th birthday, who proclaimed November 8, 2008 as Daniel Molina Day in Stamford, CT. Over the course of most of his working years, Daniel worked as a baker for Arnold Bakeries in Greenwich, CT. He will be sadly missed by his family, his friends, and by all those who knew and loved him. Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Luz Marina Llanos, on November 6, 2001. He is survived by his four devoted children: Luz Esneda Molina, Marlene Molina, Ruby Adriana Molina and Harold Molina, and his wife, Luz Angela Agredo. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren: Alexander Ramirez, and his wife, Elisha Miranda, Claudia M. Ramirez-Rodriguez, and her husband, Francisco Rodriguez, Fernando D. Riascos, Leonardo Riascos, and his wife Danna Hall, Richard Riascos, Dorian Molina, Christian Molina, Zeny Molina and Ruben Molina, his three great grandchildren, Madison, Jake and Desiree, his sister Rosana Amaya, and many nieces, nephews and friends. The Molina family will hold a celebration of Daniel's life and receive the condolences of friends and relatives on Saturday, May 4th from 10 a.m. to 2p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford, CT. Interment will be held in private.
