Frank Velez, age 79, of Greenwich peacefully entered into eternal repose with his family by his side on Saturday, July 13th at Greenwich Hospital; his passing was due to respiratory failure. Frank was the beloved husband of Eufemia Velez who survives him today. The two shared and cherished 42 years of joyful marriage and indelible memories. Born in New York City in 1934, Frank was the dearly loved son of the late Amado and Ida Velez. His previously deceased brothers Amado Jr., Robert, and Gerald Velez left him with a caring, surviving sister Linda Rodriguez of New York City. After being raised in New York City, Frank moved here and soon met Eufemia. They married and established their home in Greenwich where they subsequently raised their two sons, James and Jeffrey Velez. Frank happily spent the following four decades in Greenwich living on Pemberwick Road. Throughout his life here, he spread his kindness, generosity, laughter and love to his family, neighbors and friends. He was a one-of-a-kind man with a remarkable ability to make everyone around him smile, feel comfortable and loved. Frank is survived by his dear wife Eufemia; their son James and his wife Melissa Velez with their sons Logan and Jackson; their son Jeff and his wife Janel Apuna and their sons Jameson, Cameron, Brandon, and Grayson Velez. Frank is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews in CT, CA, NY, GA, NC, and FL. A viewing session and services will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July18th at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Avenue, Greenwich. On the following day at 10:30 AM, a funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church to commemorate Frank's life and legacy. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.castiglionefh.com.
