Dr. Henry Thurston Bonney, a native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, died peacefully on August 9, 2013, surrounded by his children. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, where his father taught, and got his medical degree at the University of Toronto, where his mother graduated. He went into general practice with Dr. Snelling in Port Colborne in 1952. In 1960 he moved to Hartford, CT to specialize in anesthesia at Hartford Hospital, joining the Hartford Anesthesiology Associates, retiring in 1994. He retired to Charlestown, RI to enjoy hosting visits from his family and friends, play his daily tennis, walk his dogs and tend his flowers and vegetable garden. He served on the Vestry at Christ Church in Westerly. He was one of the founding fathers of the Hartford Amateur Hockey Association in 1960, where he introduced hockey to his sons, and to the delight of many hundreds of local children. He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette Elizabeth Cook-the mother of his five children, and his son Geoffrey. He is survived by 3 sons- David, George, and Douglas and his wife Kathy and their children Ava and Sophia, and his daughter Ann and her husband Dale and their children Craig and Kara. His second wife, Anne, also predeceased him. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Christ Church, 7 Elm St, Westerly, RI. Internment to follow at River Bend Cemetery, 117 Beach St, Westerly. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to
