John Jagodzinski Obituary
John C. "Jags" Jagodzinski, 75, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Stamford Hospital. He was born in Greenwich on October 12, 1942 to the late John A. and Ann Schmera Jagodzinski.
John was an automotive mechanic and was the owner and operator of Camp Chevron for over twenty five years. He served in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division. He was a lifetime member of Halloween Yacht Club and member of the VFW, Post 9617 and also was an avid golfer and fisherman. In his spare time, John enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with his family and making everyone laugh.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty seven years, Paula Pia Jagodzinski of Stamford, his loving sons, Jon A. Jagodzinski , Albert J. Jagodzinski and his wife Heather, both of Stamford and his sister Gail Cullins of CA, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 9:40 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John's Mausoleum, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 5:00-9:00 p.m.

To all of you that had the opportunity to know and care for my brother have shared an experience like no other. He was kind ,smart, funny and loved with all his heart. Many funny moments growing up with him and later in life with my family and his. One of the funnies stories was pulling one of his boats up Cove Rd from the water and the boat and trailer detached itself from the truck. We all scrambled out to try and catch it. Yeah right!!! Can't remember the outcome but we laughed about that for years. Awe. ....the infamous Uncle John as we called him. not the same without you and your phone calls. Johnny I miss you with all my heart and will meet up with you on the other side.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Jags. I recall him as a feared left-handed pitcher, in the CYO league, at Cummings Park. I thought for sure he'd go on the major league. Glad to see it appears he led a happy and successful life. Condolences to his family and friends.
