Leonard (Charlie) Allinger, 83, joined his heavenly Father on Saturday, October 6, after a courageous battle with gallbladder cancer.
He was the devoted husband to Josephine, loving father of Charles Robert Allinger and his companion Kathy Johnson, Helen Allinger, Janene Allinger, Julie Allinger. Cherished grandfather to Cherie Allinger, Aimee Allinger, Debbie Andrews, Josh Andrews and Maria Pahoulis, and great grandfather to Shane Allinger.
He is also survived by his sister, Hazel Williams and brother and sister-in-law William and Mary Allinger, his sister-in-law Gayle Hand and other family. His sister, Mildred, pre-deceased him.
Charlie was a tool and die maker early in his life, then owned and operated Allinger Machine Company with his son for more than 30 years. He was born and lived most of his life in Stamford. He bravely served our County in the United States Army.
Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, October 9 from 4-7 p.m. A prayer service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 10 at 11 a.m. with Rev.
