Docimo, Sr., Michael
Michael Docimo, Sr.,86, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Stamford Hospital. He was born in Greenwich on March 18, 1927 to the late Michael and Margaret Infanti Docimo.
Michael was a Police Officer with the City of Stamford for twenty two years before retiring in 1977. Following his retirement as a Police Officer, he then went on to being a Security Guard at Pitney Bowes for thirteen years. He was also a veteran of WW II, US Marine Corp and the Korean War as a Sergeant with the US Army National Guard.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife Helen Keeler Docimo of Stamford, his loving children Michael R. Docimo and his wife Cesidia, Wayne E. Docimo and his wife Cathy and Troy Docimo all of Stamford. Also surviving are his grandchildren Stefanie Docimo, Stacie Fontana and her husband Peter, Regina and Michael Docimo and three great grandsons Joseph, Nicolas and Christopher Fontana, including his sister Rosa Curcio of CA.
Family and friends may call at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Monday, November 25, 2013 from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michael's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place Building, Memphis, TN 38105
