Michael N. Lessard, 59, of Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 16, 2013. Michael was also commonly known as "Mike from M&B" and "Coach".
Born on December 25, 1953 in Stamford, CT. Michael is survived by his loving wife Niki (Kakunes) Lessard of Stamford, CT, his four sons Christopher M. Lessard of Stamford, CT, Matthew E. Lessard of Stamford, CT, Stephen A. Lessard of Stamford, CT, and Timothy A. Lessard of Charlotte, NC, along with his mother Annette T. Lessard of Milford, CT, and his four brothers Robert L. Lessard of Milford, CT, Mark A. Lessard of Milford, CT, Brian C. Lessard of Shelton, CT, and Paul R. Lessard of Glendale, AZ. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his daughter Tina N. Lessard and his father Robert J. Lessard.
Michael was a graduate of J. M. Wright Technical High School in Stamford, CT, class of 1971. He was owner/operator of M & B Automotive Machine Shop in Stamford, CT established April 1, 1981.
Michael was an enthusiast of muscle cars, classic automobiles, and NHRA drag racing. He was engaged in youth sports holding various roles as manager/coach, board member and sponsor/booster for Northrup Little League, Babe Ruth Baseball, Pop Warner Football, Stamford Youth Basketball, YMCA Basketball, CEOBL Basketball, and Stamford High School Athletics. In addition, he also dedicated time to the Springdale Volunteer Fire Dept. rebuilding the "Buffalo" Fire Truck. Michael enjoyed his leisure time in his cabin on the lake in Beckett, MA.
The Lessard family will receive family and friends, TONIGHT, Monday, November 18th from 4 pm to 8pm with a Trisagon service at 8pm at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford, CT. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at 12pm with a funeral service to be celebrated at 1pm at the Church of the Archangels, 1527 Bedford Street, Stamford, CT. Interment will immediately follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, 230 Oaklawn Ave, Stamford, CT.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local youth organizations.
