Peter Lesta, 86, a resident of Stamford for 56 years, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at his home in Stamford with his family at his side. He was born in Glenville, CT on May 20, 1926 to the late Juliana (Skronowski) and Karol Lesta.
Mr. Lesta proudly served his country in World War II, was a veteran of the United States Army and member of the VFW. He was self employed as a professional landscaper. Peter is survived by his beloved wife of over 55 years, Frances (Rysz) Lesta, his brother-in-law Walter Rysz and his wife Virginia, his niece Carol Rysz Cole, her husband Justin, and their children Ace and Lyal, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lesta is predeceased by his six brothers.
The Lesta family welcomes all friends and relatives on Thursday, September 6th from 9 to 10:30am at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 369 Washington Blvd, in Stamford immediately after visitation. Interment will immediately follow mass at Saint Mary R.C. Cemetery, 399 North Street in Greenwich, CT.
The Lesta family thanks the many doctors and nurses who provided Peter with professional and compassionate care.
