Richard Esteban Cufre, resident of Stamford, CT, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 35 on Thursday, April 25, 2013. Richard was born in Uruguay on September 14, 1977 to Fausto Cufre Barrios and Maria Teresa Elizalde Ortiz. Richard studied at primary school No. 153 of Parque del Plata, and in high school at the Lyceum, in his native Uruguay. He came to United States in 2000 and worked in construction, going on to fulfill his dream of starting his own company. During his life in this country, he considered becoming a U.S. citizen to be his greatest achievement. He was an extraordinary father. He was caring and showed unconditional love for his family, especially his daughter Katherine. In addition to his loving parents, Fausto and Maria, Richard is survived by his wife and daughter, Alejandra and Katherine Cufre, of Stamford, his five brothers: Victor Eduardo, Adolfo Rene, Washington Waldemar Da Silva, Gustavo Ariel, Luis Maria Cufre Elizalde and his two sisters Maria Teresa, Maria Juana, Ana Maria, Maria Elena Cufre Elizalde. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Christian Diaz and Jorge Canepa, his sister-in-law, Jenny Canepa, and his nephews: Bryan Nahuel Cufre, Ivan Rodrigo Diaz Cufre and Max Canepa. Richard's family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, April 29th from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford, CT. Interment will be held in private.
