Pirolozzi, Salvatore
Salvatore Pirolozzi, 49, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 7, 2012. He was born in Stamford on December 14, 1962 to Stefano Pirolozzi and Maria C. Darienzo Raus. Sal attended Stamford public schools, graduating from Stamford High School. He was a self-employed landscaper. Sal was passionate about baseball, a sport he excelled as a youngster when he began playing in the Bobby Valentine Little League. He was also an avid New York Yankees fan. Besides his loving and dedicated mother Carmina Raus and stepfather Angelo Raus, and by his loving and dedicated father Stefano Pirolozzi, he is survived by his great grandmother Maria D'Arienzo. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Maria Gentile, Sandra Spadaccini including five nieces, Linda and Dina Spadacinni, Stefani , Rachel and Laci Gentile and a nephew Anthony Gentile, all of whom he adored. Many aunts, uncles and cousins in Italy also surviving. He will be missed by all and will live forever in our hearts. A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 9:20 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph's Mausoleum at St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenwich. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Salvatore's memory to the Catholic Charities Community Services, Traumatic Brain Injury Department, 1945 East Ridge Road, Rochester, NY 14622 The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Tandet Center for their wonderful care, compassion, and love they displayed to Salvatore during his stay.
