Anne F. Woods, 94, of Stamford, CT, formerly of Ossining, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Brighton Gardens of Stamford, with her loving family by her side. Anne was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 6, 1919 to the late William and Agnes Lowrey Fleming.
Anne is a graduate of the College of Mt. St. Vincent and initially worked for The Edison Company in NY. After raising her family, she joined B. Altman and Company and retired as a manager. She was an active volunteer at the Ossining Food Pantry in Ossining, NY.
Anne is survived by her two daughters, Regina Woods Gordon and her husband, Kenneth, of Stamford, CT and Joanne P. Woods of Croton on Hudson, NY, as well as three cherished grandchildren, Ana, Liliana and Jacob Gordon.
Besides her parents, Anne is predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph J. Woods, her brother William Fleming and her sister, Sister Marguerite Mary Fleming.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home of Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Friday February 7, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Leo's Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT on Saturday February 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at St. John's Cemetery, Queens, NY at a later date.
