Guillermo Lopez, 72, of Stamford, passed away at Stamford Hospital on the afternoon of Saturday, April 12, 2014. He was born in Colombia on January 1, 1942 to the late Rodolfo and Maria (Carlota Garcia) Lopez. Guillermo worked at the Union Trust Bank for over 20 years until his retirement. He was a loving husband and father who loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed boating on the Long Island Sound and was an avid fisherman. He also liked to travel and explore new and exciting destinations. He was a great friend to many people and he always felt the need to help them in any way he could. He was a truly selfless man. Guillermo will be missed by those who knew and loved him, and he will never be forgotten. Guillermo is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Betty Cardenas Lopez, and their children; a daughter Marcella Lopez-Barrios, and her husband Maynor, and a son John Andrew Lopez. He also leaves behind 12 brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Mr. Lopez's family will receive the sympathy and condolences of friends and relatives on Monday, April 21st, from 4 pm-8 pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22nd at 11 am at St. Benedict - Our Lady of Montserrat Church, 1 St. Benedict Circle, in Stamford. At the family's request, Guillermo's interment will be private. The family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford.
