Morton H. Cohen, born in the Bronx, NY on April 17, 1919, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. He was predeceased by his father Robert, mother Mollie, and sister Annette. He is survived by his beautiful wife of almost 59 years, Gladys Martin Cohen, daughter Barbara Aronica-Buck and her husband Peter Buck, son Robert Cohen and his wife Cathy, his beloved grandchildren Molly, David, Caitlyn and Nathan, as well as his step-grandchildren, Brent, Paige, Jamie and Bryan.
He graduated from Dewitt Clinton High School and attended NYU before joining the Air Force where he earned the rank of Captain. He served in India for six years during WWII.
He was a registered representative at Smith Barney Harris Upham as well as a retailer and commercial real state agent. He was known for his creativity, curiosity, ethics and quick wit.
He was an Eagle Scout, an avid golfer, an ardent gardener, and an incredible dancer.
The funeral will be held at Temple Beth El, 350 Roxbury Road at 2 pm on Friday, May 16, 2014. Shiva will be held Sunday, May 18 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the home of Barbara Aronica-Buck and Peter Buck.
