The Guest Book is expired.
Adeline B Hunt, 90, of Stamford passed away suddenly on June 22, 2014 at Stamford Hospital. Adeline was the daughter of the late Joseph Ferreira and Rose Cardeiro.
Adeline was born in Falmouth, MA on March 13, 1924. She graduated from Falmouth H.S. in 1942, and went to work nearby as a Bookkeeper at Camp Edwards Army Base. There, in mid-1945, she met her future husband, Cpl. Roger W. Hunt. Married in December, 1946, she fulfilled the role of homemaker for the next fourteen years at her homes in Forestville, CT, Amherst, MA, and Bayport, NY, finally settling in Stamford with her family in December, 1956. She worked for G.E. Capital as a Bookkeeper in the early 1960s, then in the early 1970s volunteered her time in the Newfield and Turn of River Schools' media centers, as well as with Project Explorer. She later held positions with Stamford Public Schools' cafeteria services, National Rental Car, and UCONN's Stamford Branch Bookstore, retiring from UCONN in the early 1990s. Adeline loved gardening, reading novels, following and discussing current events, playing games and building puzzles, and working on projects around her home. She was in constant motion right up until the end, and lived a long and fulfilling life. She was much loved by family and friends alike, and will not be soon forgotten.
Predeceased by her husband, Roger, in 1970, Adeline is survived by her daughters Paula J. Farrell and her fiancée Digger Lockenwitz, of West Stockbridge, MA, and Debra J. Hunt, of Danville, PA, and by her son Dana R. Hunt and his wife Kerry of Stamford. Her four grandchildren, Sean R. Farrell and his girlfriend Nali Persaud, Kelly A. Toscano and her husband Tom, William R. Hunt and Andrea C. Hunt, as well as her great-granddaughter, Madelyn Olivia Toscano, survive her as well.
