Maureen Elizabeth Bradley Fletcher died July 25, 2014 at Laurel Ridge Nursing Home and Rehab Facility in Ridgefield, Connecticut. Maureen was born in St. Louis, Missouri to the late William and Adelaide Bradley. As a young child she moved from St. Louis to Larchmont, NY. She attended St Augustine's Parochial School and St. Gabriel's High School in New Rochelle. Upon graduation from St. Gabriel's she entered St. Vincent's Hospital, NYC School of Nursing where she graduated very close to the top of her class. After receiving her Registered Nurse degree she began working at St. Vincent's where she met her husband Allan, and in April of 2014 celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary. Their wedding was held at St. Augustine Church in Larchmont with the reception at Orienta Beach Club in Mamaroneck. A few years later they joined Orienta enjoying its social aspects and many hours on the tennis courts. After they were married they moved to Westchester County and Maureen worked at a member of hospitals before joining the staff at St. Vincent's in Harrison, NY. She held many positions at St. Vincent's including Night Supervisor.
Maureen and Al had three children, Christopher (Ellen), Hugh, and Elizabeth and her husband Christopher Demery of Tarpon Springs, Florida. Hugh died of Muscular Dystrophy on May 16, 2002. Maureen had recently said that she looked forward to seeing Hugh in heaven.
Maureen had four brothers, Judge William Bradley and Doctor Michael Bradley (Elaine) both of the State of Delaware and Edward (Peggy) of Chattanooga TN. She was pre-deceased by her brother Dennis. Maureen was also the proud grandmother of Brendan Fletcher and Claire Fletcher.
Maureen will repose at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street Stamford, CT. 203-327-1313 with visiting hours on Wednesday July 30, 2014 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit R.C. Church 403 Scofield Town Road at 10:30 AM Thursday July 31, 2014. Interment Private.
