Maloney, Thomas F .
Thomas F. "Sarge" Maloney, 75, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Stamford Hospital. He was born in Greenwich, CT on January 4, 1939 to the late Thomas J. and Margaret Dwan Maloney.
"Sarge" was employed as a foreman for the Stamford Advocate for 42 years and also was the pitcher for the company softball team in his early years. He also worked for himself as the owner of TFM Trucking in Stamford. He was an avid Met and Jet fan and enjoyed classic car shows along with his grandkids sporting events.
He is survived by his loving wife Elaine F. Denison Maloney of Stamford, his loving sons Thomas P. Maloney and Brian F. Maloney and his wife Leslie all of Stamford, two brothers Jack Maloney and his wife Pat of Stamford and James Maloney and his wife Geri of of RI, two brother in laws Philibert Denison and his wife Gerianne of FL and Barry Denison and his wife Patty of Stamford. Also surviving are his two grandsons Michael and Jared Maloney and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 PM.
