Catherine Blacker Obituary

CATHERINE "KAY" BLACKER 86, died peacefully at home on Oct. 24, 2008 after a long illness. Born in Bridgeport on May 11, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Alfonsis and Margaret Coburn. She graduated from Stamford High School in 1940, and lived most of her life in Stamford --where she and her husband owned and operated Allen's Floor Waxing Service for over 40 years. Catherine was the loving mother of Cathy Blacker (Stamford) and Daniel Blacker (Seattle), and cherished mother-in-law of Paula Blacker (Chicago). She was also the beloved grandmother of three and great-grandmother of two. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Allen and by her oldest son, Allen Jr. A memorial service to celebrate her life is being planned for May.

Forty-three years ago she opened her arms and her heart and welcomed me into her family.
