RUDOLPH D'AVANZO, 83, previously of Norwalk, passed peacefully at home on September 6, 2009. His parents were the late Valentine and Prospero D'Avanzo of Norwalk. Rudy served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was active with the Spring Hill Tigers and Pastimes. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cynthia Fraser D'Avanzo; son, Paul D'Avanzo (Melvi) of Stamford; his stepchildren, Kathy Monteiro of Zebulon, N.C., Lydia Winston (Harold) of Louisburg, N.C., and Stephanie Davis (Jay) of Gardner, Kan.; two brothers, Roland Davin of Bend, Ore. and Albert D'Avanzo (Lil); and sister, Gloria Holomakoff (George) of Norwalk. He is survived and will be lovingly remembered by several grandchildren, Justin, Maza, Harold, Steven, Gabrielle, Myla, Diamond, Chanel, John, and Jazz; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
