MARY RUBINO VALLUZZO CARLUCCI, 91, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2011, at her home. Born March 24, 1919, in Stamford, CT. Mary was the youngest child of the late Genaro and Christine Carlo Rubino. For many years, she was employed at Genovese Pants Factory. After moving to Danbury, Connecticut, Mary was co-owner of Fran Marie Shop, and was also an avid seamstress. She loved to cook and baking was her pride and joy. Mary was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. Survived by her step children, Gertrude Sciarretta, (Salvatore) Anthony Carlucci (Maryanne), four grandchildren Sal Sciarretta (Robin), Theresa Horn (Douglas), Peter Carlucci (Anamarie), and Peter Sciarretta; great grandchildren Michael, Chelsea, Matthew Sciarretta, Robert, Brittany, and Peter Horn, and Anthony and Christopher Carlucci. She was predeceased by her husbands Rocco Valluzzo and Peter Carlucci, brothers Anthony and Joseph Rubino, sisters, Dora Rubino, Agnes Galatro Coppola, Jennie Stavola, and Frances Degross. The family extends a special thank you to Mary's caregivers and Masonicare Home Health & Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 (TODAY) at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury, CT. Friends and family may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 (TODAY) from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's name to Masonicare Home Health & Hospice, 535 Connecticut Avenue, Suite 101, Norwalk, CT 06854 and Our Lady of the Angels, c/o Father Robert Lombardo, 3808 West Iowa Street, Chicago, IL 60651.
