GEORGE WILLIAM HARTLETT, age 78 of Milford, passed away July 27, 2011 at Milford Hospital. George was born December 28, 1932 the son of the late Theodore R. Hartlett and Pauline Ritch and grew up in Stamford. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US navy aboard the USS Pittsburgh. He worked as a sub-contractor for Stamford Installation and Mr. Shower Door. As a young child he always loved music and as an adult he become an accomplished musician playing accordian and piano. He also performed with the Nashville Express on keyboard. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Paula Smolinski Hartlett, four children: Ted Hartlett and his wife Ibel of Newtown, Fred Hartlett and his wife Debbie of Stamford, Sandy Fecci and her husband Tony of Stamford, Tom Hartlett and his wife Mary of Milford, 14 grandchildren: Sarah, Jonathan, Stephen, Tina and Theo Hartlett, Eric and Bryan Hartlett, Chris, Michael,and Daniel Fecci, Scott, Amanda, Lauren and Emily Hartlett, and one great grandchild, Vladmir. He is survived by a brother Wayne Hartlett of Stamford, and a sister Lorraine Mele of Bethel.He was predeceased by a sister Doris Smith, and a brother Robert Hartlett. There will be a memorial service on Saturday July 30, 2011 at 11am at the Ponus Yacht Club, 41 Bateman Way in Stamford.
