PATRICK SAMUEL SMITH On Friday, August 5, 2011, Patrick Samuel Smith of Ridgefield, CT unexpectedly passed away from a bacterial infection at the age of 20 while vacationing in Spain with his family. Patrick was born on December 27, 1990 in Charleston, WV and lived in Ridgefield for the past 15 years. He is survived by his parents, Tammy Mandeville of Ridgefield and James Smith of Stamford. His family and countless heartbroken friends whose lives Patrick touched will forever remember this charismatic, compassionate young man," his family said. Patrick graduated from Ridgefield High School in 2009. He played lacrosse as well as basketball through RBA. Family members said, "Patrick loved sports, food and travel, but most of all, he loved his family and his friends. He brightened the lives of everyone he met with his shining personality and infectious smile. Patrick will be loved forever." A celebration of Patrick's life will take place on Friday, August 12th at Jesse Lee Memorial Church, 207 Main Street, Ridgefield at 3:00 PM with Pastor Bill Pfohl presiding. A reception will immediately follow in Martin Hall located below the church. Memorial donations in Patrick's memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
