FRANK J. OSKER, JR., 80, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 with his family by his side in Stamford. He was born on June 29, 1931 in Stamford to the late Frank and Mary Battinelli Osker. As a youth, Frank attended Stamford High School , graduating Class of 1949. Frank served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as an Airman First Class from February 4, 1951 to November 23, 1954. Frank also participated in secret missions into French Indo-China and was stationed for three years in Ashiya, Japan in the 403 D Troop Carrier Wing. Frank served as a firefighter for thirty six years with the City of Stamford Fire Department . He belonged to the American Legion Post 0069 of Arlington, VT; The Knights of Columbus Council # 41 Stamford and the VFW Post 9617. His interests were hunting, fishing and music. He loved to play cards, travel, dance, sing and play the ukulele with his family and friends. He performed with his cousins in a band called the "Living Room Players". Frank especially enjoyed dressing up as Santa Claus every year at the Annual Children's Fire Department Christmas Party. He was always the life of the party and had a great sense of humor, and loved his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty five years, Louise Hussey Osker, son Robert Osker and his wife Andrea of Stamford; daughter Suzanne Lord and her fiancé Richard Cretarola of Newport, RI; stepson Jeffrey Camp and his wife Sandra of Peoria, IL; grandson Jordan Lord of Warwick, RI; brothers Michael Osker and his wife Joan of Federal Way, WA; Albert Osker and his wife Judy of Morrisville, PA; Carl Osker and his wife Katherine of Palm Coast, FL and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his beloved sister Bernice Osker and his niece Kimberly Osker Sowicki. A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 10:15 AM for a Mass of Christian to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Interment will be private. Friends may call at the funeral on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 PM. The Nicholas F.
