Carter , Ernest
Ernest Lee Carter passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012. He was born on February 1, 1937 in Kershaw, SC son of the late Dennis Carter Sr. and Bessie Anthony Carter. Ernest was an employee for the City of Stamford until retirement and served in the U.S. Navy. He was married to Annie Beckham Carter of Bridgeport, CT. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Evelyn David, one son Ernie L. Carter Jr., two grandsons, Andre Carter & Danny Brangman, one great grandchild, Symaris Brangman, two sisters, Johnnie Mae Richardson, Shirley Chisholm, and a many loving relatives and friends. Ernest was predeceased by three children, John C. Carter, Angela D. Carter and Sheila Carter, siblings, Rebecca Jackson, Macey Carter, and Dennis Carter Jr. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM at Downer Funeral Home, 31 Stillwater Ave., Stamford, CT with Bishop Alan B. Graves officiating. Interment will follow at the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT.
