Punzi, Sr., Frank M.
Frank M. Punzi Sr., 79, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday November 16, 2012. Frank was born in New York, NY to the late Silvio and Tessie Reggio-Punzi. Frank served in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a Navy Photographer. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
Frank is survived by two daughters; Susan M. and Michael E. Crowell and Barbara Punzi and John Travis, all of Stamford and one son; Frank M. and Jodi Punzi Jr. of New Jersey, three grandchildren; Shawn, Frank, and Samuel, one sister-in-law Laura Simoes of South Carolina and one "brother"-in-law Anthony DiGirolamo and Vita of Stamford, a nephew Anthony DiGirolamo, a niece Sunnianne DiGirolamo and her fiancée Karl Joseph, as well as nieces Patti Burgess and Christine Tilden.
Besides his parents Frank is predeceased by his loving wife Camille Ann DiGirolamo-Punzi, his beloved in-laws Camille and Anthony DiGirolamo, and one brother Peter Punzi.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT on Monday November 19 from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00AM on Tuesday November 20, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Maurice RC Church, 358 Glenbrook Road Stamford, CT at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Stamford, CT.
