Hauser, Lawrence
The Honorable Lawrence L. Hauser, age 69 of Norwalk, died Tuesday November 20 at the Norwalk Hospital. He was the loving husband of Kathleen Sugar Hauser. Larry was born in Norwalk on December 16, 1942, son of the late Charles and Aurora Hauser and has lived locally all of his life. He spent many years as a coach and lifeguard at Roton Point. He was a lifetime member and President of Shore & Country Club. Larry was a graduate of Fairfield Prep, Georgetown University and George Washington University School of Law. He was a prominent attorney in Norwalk and received many awards for civic service. In 1985 Larry was appointed a Superior Court Judge for the State of CT and served primarily in Bridgeport for the past 28 years. One of his proudest accomplishments, was in developing the first Domestic Violence Docket in Connecticut.
He was a devoted father to his three daughters, Nicky, Lauren, Susu. He is also survived by his loving brother Charles R. Hauser.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 27, 11:00am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., Norwalk. Larry's family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Monday from 5-7 PM. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at Shore & Country Club, Norwalk, after mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Larry's name to the Institute for Neurodegenerative Disorders (
