DeVarti, Daniel
Daniel Robert DeVarti, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away at home with his loving wife Donna by his side, on Friday December 7, 2012, at the age of 72. He was born on August 16, 1940 to the late Amerigo and Blanche (Coppola) DeVarti. Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Donna Gallichio DeVarti, his loving daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Brian Gilronan of Trumbull and Dawn and Dominick Bria of Stamford, his five precious grandchildren, Kayla and Morgan Gilronan and Daniel, Madeline and Jason Bria. He is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Tina DeVarti, of Port Chester NY, and his two sisters, Joan Casillo, of Stamford, and Mildred DeVarti, of California. In addition, he is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Carol Gallichio, Joseph Gallichio, Deborah Gallichio Stadler and Keith Stadler, Richard and Lisa Gallichio, and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Joseph Casillo. Daniel was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a true friend to all who knew him. He founded DeVarti Electric Company over 30 yrs ago and truly loved working his trade. As the result of his passion and hard work, Daniel established a very successful business. He was a faithful and devoted Catholic who was true to his faith. He served as a Eucharist Minister and a Lector at Sacred Heart Church, and served time as the President of the Holy Name Society and the Sacred Heart Parish Council. He was also a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Most of all, Daniel's greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will truly be missed by his family and friends. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Monday, December 10 at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 11 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. At the family's request's Mr. DeVarti's interment will be held in private. The DeVarti family has entrusted Daniel's final arrangements to Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford.
