As he accomplished his goals and traveled the world , Steve was not afraid to take a chance. , to reach out to people ... in his faith he knew that there is an eternity that binds us all and that therefore there is nothing one should fear on this earth

June 7, 2017

Steve 's personal faith enabled him to see the humanity in others giving him humility and the knowledge that we are all equal in the eyes of the Lord ... his faith gave him the courage to go forth in the world with the confidence that there is only One to whom we are accountable and by whom we may be judged

Steve, who always wore his St Joseph medal close to his heart not only every day but also as he traveled to far off countries like Oman and SaudiArabia was an ambassador for all that which was good and true, and always worth pursuing for the good of all

My Prayers are with Tami and the boys. Steve was a mentor and a hero to so many. I will always be thankful for the time and guidance he gave to my son Dawson. He was another father figure for my son to look up to, and I know that he always considered him to be his role model. Steve truly was "everyone's everything." He will be missed dearly.

Some of the best hockey memories I have revolve around Steve. He always put everybody first and was there to expedite transportation from prep schools to the rinks and always made sure that any player that couldn't afford to be there was able to be a part of the team. Boston College became family for us with both of my boys attending and Steve would join us for games and dinners were we were able to share lots of great stories. Steve and Tami also opened the doors for me and my family in the philanthropy arena and we are still a part of some of the organizations Steve introduced us to it. You always give us something to laugh about and you will be missed. Much love the Atko family.
