Mary, I am very sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed getting to know your mother over the past few years. She was a true Southern Lady! She was not afraid to tell people what she thought, but with such a lovely southern accent, it always sounded nice! She was so lucky to have been able to spend her last 8 years here in Stamford, with you and John so close by to care for her.

At NORFOLK ACADEMY we all LOVED LUCY! She was one of the PANTHEON of teachers-along with-Jean Land , Va Price, Lue Sebren--who taught young teachers so much! She had a razor sharp wit and a heart of gold. I still quote her often-- I.e."Children are at their worst on school buses and in SUNDAY School rooms!" etc.
