LeVALLEY, MARY
HELEN "HUMMY"
Age 94 of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday March 8, 2014 at Elcor Nursing Home. Mary Helen was born May 12, 1919, the daughter of the late Manley Bray Lathrop and Jessie H. Little Lathrop. Hummy was a graduate of Southside High School and Elmira Business Institute. She married her husband Fred B. "Flip" LeValley Sr. on June 20, 1942; he pre-deceased her on February 25, 2004 after 61 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her brother Lawrence Lathrop and son-in-law Ronald Farley. Hummy and Flip were long time members of Trinity Episcopal Church in Elmira and The Elmira Country Club. She was involved in community volunteering through The Junior League of Elmira. Hummy is survived by her loving and devoted children: Fred B. "Chip" LeValley (Marian A.) of Elmira, Christine L. Turner (F. Gordon) of Palmetto, FL, Nancy L. Farley of Cazenovia, NY and John L. "Jack" LeValley (Cheryl L.) of Elmira; grandchildren: Susan L. Teigen (Daniel) of Great Barrington, MA, Keren M. Turner (Mark Peterson) of Burlington, VT, Adam Bray Turner of Bradenton, FL, Scott Farley (Jill) of Cadillac, MI, Samantha Pappas (Lt.Col. Vasilios) of Leonardtown, MD, Caroline LeValley of Elmira, and Emily LeValley-Johnson (Marson) of Fayetteville, NC; and 7 great grandchildren, niece and nephews. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church 304 N. Main St. Elmira, NY 14901. Arrangements entrusted to the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY.
