Andrews, Margaret "Mitzie" (Garey) Margaret "Mitzie" Andrews (Garey), 65, passed away on January 19, 2015 surrounded by loving family. Mitzie was born February 11, 1949 in Elmira, NY. She is survived by her daughter, Nichole Andrews (Eric Hill); special niece, Megan Garey; sisters, Carol Carpenter(Ed), Joni Ramsey; her three grandchildren, & many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John & Gertrude Garey; brother, Jack Garey. THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS. MEMORIAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT THE BAKER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 24, 2015 AT 11:00AM.

ANDREWSON, ANNA JANE MACEKUR Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother - age 95, formerly of Elmira Heights, NY. She was born November 23, 1919 in Elmira Heights, daughter of the late John and Mary (Melnick) Macekur and died January 18, 2015 in San Marcos, CA, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers Andrew and Michael. She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Stephen; daughter and son-in-law Mary Ann and James Frits of San Marcos, CA; grandchildren, Jimmy Frits of Elmira Heights, NY, Shannon Frits and Steven Leach of Oceanside, CA, Daniel and Stephanie Frits of Colorado Springs, CO, great-granddaughter Gianna Leach of Oceanside, and several nieces and nephews. She was a long-time member of Saint Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church where she was a member of the former Mother's Club. She and her husband were former members of the pyrohy group at the church. She was also a member of the Birthday Club. She was also a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Feshoh-Macekur Catholic War Veterans Club in Elmira Heights which was named after her brother Andrew, who gave his life for his country. Anna was a member of the graduating class of 1938, Thomas A. Edison High School. She enjoyed her family, cooking, reading and doing word-search puzzles. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 23, at 1:30 PM at St. Mark's Catholic Church in San Marcos with burial immediately following at the San Marcos Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those wishing may remember Anna through donations to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 410 McCann's Blvd., Elmira Heights, NY or the American Heart Association.
