CAMPBELL, MABLE MAY Age 68 of Elmira Heights, NY passed away on Thursday August 27, 2015. She was born in Montour, NY on October 21, 1946 the daughter of the late Dalton and Catherine Croft Thurber. She was pre-deceased by her brother Dalton Thurber Jr. Mable is survived by her loving husband Collin Campbell; sons and daughter-in-law: Brian and Penny Campbell of Elmira, NY and Billy Campbell of Elmira Heights, NY; daughter and son-in-law: Colleen and Scott Hetrick of Elmira Heights, NY; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law: Esther and William Hughes of Mecklenburg, NY; Beverly and John Gaffney of FL; Roberta and Marvin Eggleston of Ithaca, NY; sister-in-law: Betty Thurber; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Life Celebration for Mable at the Horseheads Moose Club on Wednesday September 2, 2015 from 2-6PM. In Lieu of Flowers those wishing may remember Mable through donations to the American Cancer Society 1316 College Avenue Elmira, NY 14901. CARRIGAN, JAMES A. "JIMBO" Age 82 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Wednesday August 26, 2015. He was born in Owego, NY on August 6, 1933 the son of the late Francis and Ethel News Carrigan. Jimbo was retired from Westinghouse Corporation in Horseheads, NY. He was a lifetime fan of the Elmira Pioneers, the Elmira Jackals, and a die hard NY Yankees fan. Jimbo was a member of the Heights American Legion. Mr. Carrigan was pre-deceased by many brothers and sisters. James is survived by his loving wife of 57 years of Marriage Florence "Lou" Hamilton Carrigan; son and daughter-in-law: Dennis and Dolores Carrigan of Elmira Heights, NY; daughter and son-in-law: Fayth and Roger Wiggins of Elmira Heights, NY; grandchildren: Kendra and Kevin Clark; Kimberly and fiancé Jared Ungerland; Christy and Tim Frost; Melissa and Daryl Brill; Heather Wiggins; 7 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law: Nancy and Sonny Pond; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Monday August 31, 2015 from 2-4PM. Cassidy Jr., William M.  
Cassidy, William M., Jr. William M. "Bill" Cassidy, Jr., age 73, of Painted Post passed peacefully Wednesday morning, August 26, 2015. Bill was born in November 1941 at Corning Hospital to William and Isabel (Illig) Cassidy, Sr. He graduated from Corning Free Academy and went on to major in accounting at Niagara University. Bill and Margaret (Peg) Nelson were married in May of 1966, at St. Patrick's Church in Corning. Throughout his life, Bill took pride in giving back to the community through his many volunteer efforts with various organizations including the St. Vincents/All Saints Choir, All Saints Finance Committee, Painted Post Board of Trade, Colonial Days Executive Committee and Treasurer, Corning Chamber of Commerce and serving as a 30-year volunteer with the LPGA Corning Classic tournament. In addition to his volunteer work, Bill enjoyed his Wednesday night bowling, rooting on his beloved NY Yankees as well as attending and supporting local theater and philharmonic events. He was a member of the Corning Elks Chapter, served in the US Army Reserves and served on the Board for the Elmira/Corning Chapter of the National Association of Accounts/IMA. He is survived by his loving wife Peg; sons, Michael (Jamie Stryker) Cassidy of Morriston, FL, John (Amy) Cassidy of Penfield, NY; sister, Virginia Witt of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Alexa and Thomas; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 28th from 5 - 7 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 29th at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 222 Dodge Avenue in Corning with Father John Forni officiating. Memorial donations may be made in Bill's name to All Saints Parish or the American Diabetes Association.

Cicconi, Doris Arlene (Strong)  
Cicconi, Doris Arlene (Strong) Doris Arlene Cicconi, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving husband, Raymond, on Monday, August 17, 2015 in Spring, Texas at the age of 85. She was born June 18, 1930 in Elmira, NY, daughter of Ella and William Strong. She survived the death of her father when she was 9 years old, and remained especially devoted to her mother throughout her life. She attended Elmira Free Academy, and was a member of Kappa Epsilon sorority. At age 15 she met the love of her life, Raymond Cicconi. They married at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Elmira on August 13, 1949. In 1960, Ray and Doris were transferred to Memphis, which began a series of work-related moves. Despite distance, they always stayed in close touch with family and friends in Elmira, returning often. With the death of her mother Ella, Doris became the family matriarch, a role she relished, always ensuring that every family event was communicated quickly to all, including her many relatives back home. She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Raymond Cicconi; son James Cicconi and wife Trisha; daughter Kathleen Cicconi; daughter Carol Cicconi Mumma and husband Bruce; four granddaughters, five great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews William Strong, Carol Ferreri, Barbara Reed, Martin Strong, Bruce Strong, Gary Strong, Cindy Strong and Patti Strong, all of whom she loved dearly. She was pre-deceased by her brothers William, Donald and Robert Strong, and her nephew Robert Strong, Jr. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29 at Klein Funeral Home in Spring, Texas. Her ashes will be interred in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira.

Cieri, Donald "Don"  
Cieri, Donald "Don" Age 87, Donald "Don" G. Cieri of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2015 at Rome Memorial Hospital. Don is predeceased by his parents, John and Carrie, brothers, Anthony, Charles and William; a sister, Mary Hughes and a son-in-law, James Pierce. Surviving Don are his wife of 65 years, Dolores 'Dolly" Dilatush; a daughter, Diane Cieri-Mayers (David) with son Colton; a daughter Susan Pierce with children, Alyssa, Carly and Eric; a son Daniel (Kit); four great- grandchildren; sister-in-law Toni Cieri of Elmira; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. Born and raised in Elmira, NY, Don graduated from Elmira Free Academy, where he played varsity football and semi-pro basketball. He entered Colgate University on a President's Scholarship, played varsity football, softball and was a member of the Colgate Bridge Team, an All East Championship Team. A member of the Phi Gamma Delta House. Don graduated with his BA in 1949. He had a life long association with Colgate, was honored to be awarded the Maroon Citation in 1980 and, established an endowment scholarship at Colgate for Oneida County students. Don met and married Dolly in Princeton, NJ in 1951, Drafted into the Army during the Korean War, his major duties included playing golf with the Fort Dix base officers and, in exchange for cleaning his rifle, Don wrote love letters to the girlfriends of his fellow soldiers. Dolly and Don moved to Rome in 1954 where he established his business, Rome Insurance Service. He took an active role in the community, including serving as Rotary President, United Way Chairman and President, President of the Board of Trustees of the First Presbyterian Church and, was a member of the Rome Chamber of Commerce and the Rome Hospital Board of Directors. The greatest passion of his life was golf. Self-taught in college, Don quickly became an accomplished and highly regarded "scratch golfer". For many years he played in tournaments in NYS and other areas on the east coast. He hit his first hole-in-one in Pinehurst, NC in 1968 and, his last at Teugega Country Club in 2003. Up until the last week of his life, at 87, Don worked as a consultant for CRM and, played his last 18 holes of golf at Teugega on July 21, 2015. Don donated his body to SUNY Upstate Medical University. A service will be held on Saturday, August 29th, at 1:00 PM, in the First Presbyterian Church, 108 W. Court Street in Rome. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to a charity of one's choice. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Tom Kirkpatrick and Dave Carello for being the kind of friends to Don we all wish that we had.

Crowell, Cleopha M.  
CROWELL, Cleopha M. Age 100, of Wellsboro, PA, formerly of Galeton, Ulysses, and Coudersport, died Monday, August 31, 2015. Born June 12, 1915, in Harrison Valley, she was the daughter of John T. and Clio M. Toombs Carpenter. She was married to Clark A. Crowell, who predeceased her in 1961. A 1934 graduate of Ulysses High School, she attended beauty school in Olean, NY. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Ulysses and was employed by Pure Carbon and TC Specialties in Coudersport. Cleopha was a member of Order of the Eastern Star #95 in Ulysses. Surviving are: a daughter, Joyce Crowell of Littlerock, CA; seven grandchildren, William James Fleming, Arthur Christopher Fleming, Rhea Crowell Beacker, Wesley Crowell, Erin Crowell, Christine Crowell Smith, and Stephen Crowell; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Clark Edward Crowell; a daughter, Joan D. Fleming; a grandson, David Fleming; a brother, Lawrence Carpenter; and a sister, Edna Gregg. Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home, Ulysses, PA on Saturday, September 5th from 9:00 - 11:00 AM, with Funeral Services at 11:00 AM. The Rev. John Prouty will officiate. An Eastern Star service will be held 9:30 AM, Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Raymond Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ulysses Library, P.O. Box 316, Ulysses, PA 16948. Disinski, Vicki (Vester) formerly from Horseheads, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Michael Disinski; son, Timothy (Alicia) Disinski; daughter, Mary (Danial) Crum; mother, Barbara Dickinson; brother, Richard (Suzanne) Vester; sisters, Michelle (Tyrone) Gaisthea, Niki (Frankie) Bohart Jr.; sister-in-law, Patricia (Michael) Stracuzzi; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
