Crandell, Lois Jean Troy, PA: Lois Jean "Tucker" (VanNess) Crandell, 79, of Troy, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. Family and friends are welcome to call from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Troy, 579 Canton Street, Troy, PA. The celebration of her life will follow the visitation at the church at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 31st with her pastor, Rev. Garry Zuber officiating. Gurnsey, Derold Edwin  
Gurnsey, Derold Edwin Derold Edwin Gurnsey, 75, of Galeton PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at his home. Born April 4, 1939 in Corning, NY, he was a son of the late Howard and Stella (Kimble) Gurnsey. Derold was a general contractor and an active member of the Galeton Moose. He loved golfing with friends and loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and photographer of wildlife. Derold loved animals, especially his beloved pets that he was always surrounded by. In addition to his wife of 53 years, Mary Alice (Weeks) Gurnsey, he was survived by two daughters, Laurie (Don) Friends and Lynae Gurnsey; four grandchildren, Amanda Friends, Jared Friends, Mackenzie (Ben) Howe and Tai Sean Gurnsey; a great granddaughter, Risley Howe; a brother, Daniel Gurnsey; a brother-in-law, Robert Archer; and several special nieces and nephews. Derold was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Gurnsey; two sisters, Winona Archer and Gayle Taft; and a sister-in-law, Faye Gurnsey. As per Derold's request, services will be private. There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the The Hope Lodge, 110 W. Laurel Ave., Cheltenham, PA, 19012, where Derold and Mary Alice stayed during his treatment of Mesothelioma. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Galeton.

McDonell, Robert J. "Mick"  
McDonell, Robert J. "Mick" Age 86, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015, at St. Joseph's Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. Mick was born in Elmira NY on January 29, 1928 the son of Robert J., Sr. and Mary Grady McDonell. He is survived by his children, Robert Michael McDonell of Elmira; Nora Elizabeth McDonell of Elmira and her children, Katie, Miriam, Abdulaziz and Ibrahim; Timothy Richard McDonell of Elgin SC with wife Tami and daughter Taryn; 4 great grandchildren; special friend Karen Coleman of Elmira. Mick was a U S Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a mold maker with Thatcher Glass for nearly 30 years. Mick was a die-hard New York Yankee fan. He was extremely proud to have been a Small Fry Football coach for Ernie Davis. Mick was a long time member of the Elmira Elks Club and the American Legion. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Elmira, on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Pronti, Alexander 'Sandy' Horseheads/Geneva: Alexander 'Sandy' J. Pronti, 72, of Horseheads passed away on Wednesday, January, 28, 2015, at home. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday February 2, at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St., Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Sandy was born on June 25, 1942 in Geneva, NY and was the son of the late Angelo and Phyllis (D'Abbracci) Pronti. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea. Sandy was employed for 30 years with Kraft Foods, Phillip Morris Co. as an Accountant Sales Rep. He also worked six years for Leon Kastner Meat Purveyor of Rochester and Lobel's of New York. He was a member of the Horseheads Clubs: The American Legion, Elks and Moose Club. Sandy was a communicant of Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Elmira. He enjoyed golfing with the 'Mini Tour' of Soaring Eagles was one of his favorite leisure activities. His many rounds of play and the long lasting friendships were very special to him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betsy (Heffron) Pronti of Horseheads. They recently celebrated 45 years of marriage; sons, David (Michele) Pronti of Dalmatia, PA and Mark (Denise) Pronti of Horseheads; three grandchildren, Angelina, Amelia and Zane Pronti; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cox, Bridget Horseheads: Age 53 of Horseheads, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Bridget was predeceased by her infant sister, Ann Cox; and brother, Frank Cox, Jr. in 2009. Bridget is survived by her loving family: son, Jason M. Cox; grandson, Michael P. Cox; parents, Frank and Rosalie Cox of Horseheads; brothers and sisters, Ramona Patrick of New Port Richey, FL, Yvette (Steve) Cheuvront, of Horseheads, Michael (Julie) Cox of Horseheads, Patrick (Kay) Cox of Erin, Matthew (Cindy) Cox, Christopher Cox of Horseheads, Mary (John) Rosettie of Caton, and Amy (Greg) Cole of Horseheads; sister-in-law, Susan Cox also of Horseheads; several nieces and nephews; many dear friends. Bridget was a devoted to her son and grandson, Jesus Christ and her catholic faith. Bridget adored and loves all her nieces and nephews and cherished time spent with family. Bridget will be remembered as a loving and kind person, she always greeted you with a smile. She loved make others around her laugh and joke around. She was gifted in decorating, writing, painting and arts. Bridget enjoyed listening to the 80's music. Knott, Sr., Glenn A. Elmira Heights: Age 76, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Robert Packer Hospital. Glenn was born in Elmira on October 14, 1938, a son of the late Charles Stanley and Anna (Phillips) Knott. He was also predeceased by sisters, Virginia Seeley and Frances Rice; brother Robert Knott. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Fay Blakey Knott; children Charles Stanley, II and Molly Knott of Elmira Heights with their daughters Jamie (with fiancé Chris Reynard) and Nicole Knott; Glenn A. Knott, Jr. of Knoxville PA with his children Andrew and Lindsey Knott; Christine A. and David Dinus of Elmira Heights NY with their son Michael Dinus; great grandchildren, Jacob Charles and Christian Jude Reynard; sisters and brother-in-law, Vivian Comfort of Horseheads NY, June and Lloyd Scott of Millport NY; sister-in-law Arlene Troccia of Elmira; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; family dogs, Leo, Lola and Cali. Glenn served for several years in the Army Reserve. He worked for Thatcher Glass in Elmira Heights for 20 years before going to work as a New York State Corrections Officer from where he retired. He was a member of the Elmira Heights American Legion. Glenn loved the outdoors, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. The most important part of his life was his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be truly missed. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. West Water Street, on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 5:30 p.m. Burial will take place on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
